Psalms 80

A desperate prayer for restoration, comparing Israel to a vine God brought out of Egypt and planted in the Promised Land. The Psalmist cries out, urging God to "Restore us, O God; cause your face to shine, and we shall be saved!" The people lament that the vineyard's wall has been broken down, and it is now being ravaged by wild beasts and enemies. The Psalmist pleads for God to look down from heaven and visit the vine, strengthening the Son of Man (Israel) and leading them to renewed life and salvation.
