Psalms 83

Psalms 83

An urgent imprecatory prayer requesting God's intervention against a united conspiracy of enemies. The people list ten surrounding nations, including the Moabites, Ammonites, and Philistines, who have formed an alliance with the goal of completely cutting off Israel so that "the name of Israel may be remembered no more." The Psalmist asks God to confuse and destroy them like the defeated enemies of old, so that they may "know that You, whose name alone is the Lord, are the Most High over all the earth."
