Psalms 84

Psalms 84

A passionate hymn of longing for the Temple and the presence of God. The Psalmist cries, "How lovely is Your tabernacle, O Lord of hosts! My soul longs, yes, even faints for the courts of the Lord." The Psalmist envies the birds (sparrows and swallows) who make their nests near God's altars. The Psalmist declares that a day in Your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere. He concludes with a powerful blessing: "O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man who trusts in You!"
