Psalms 9

Psalms 9

A song of thanksgiving for God's judgment and faithfulness. David promises to praise the Lord with his whole heart and declare all of God’s marvelous works. David rejoices that God has judged his enemies and rebuked the wicked. He affirms that the Lord is enthroned forever to execute justice. David highlights God’s care for the oppressed, declaring that the Lord is a refuge for the persecuted. The Psalm issues a stark warning: the wicked shall be turned into hell, and the nations that forget God will be punished, but the needy will not be forgotten.
