Revelation 1

Revelation 1

John opens the Book of Revelation by declaring it is a prophecy from Jesus Christ to show His servants what must soon take place. John is on the island of Patmos when he hears a loud voice and turns to see a glorious vision of the resurrected Christ, standing among seven golden lampstands (representing the seven churches). Christ commands John to write what he has seen, what is now, and what will take place later, sending specific letters to the seven churches in Asia.
