Zechariah 13

God promises that in that future day, a fountain will be opened for the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to cleanse them from sin and impurity. All false prophets and unclean spirits will be removed from the land. The Lord declares that He will strike the Shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered (a prophecy quoted by Jesus). However, a faithful third of the people will be refined in the fire of suffering, and they will declare, "The Lord is my God."
