Zechariah 4

Zechariah 4

Zechariah sees a vision of a gold lampstand with a bowl on top and two olive trees beside it. The two trees represent the two anointed ones who serve the Lord: Zerubbabel (the governor) and Joshua (the high priest). The angel proclaims that the temple will be completed, not by military power or human strength, but ""by my Spirit."" This vision encourages Zerubbabel not to despise the small beginnings of the rebuilt temple, assuring him that his hands will finish the work.
