Zephaniah 1

Zephaniah 1

Zephaniah delivers a chilling message of impending doom, warning of the approaching Day of the Lord. He prophesies that God will sweep away all life from the land, bringing a terrible judgment upon Judah for its rampant idolatry and syncretism (mixing God's worship with foreign practices). The judgment will be so severe that all the proud, arrogant leaders and merchants will be silenced. Zephaniah describes this Day as a day of wrath, distress, and gloom, a day when neither silver nor gold can save them.
