Paul sails for Rome as a prisoner. A great storm (the Northeaster) strikes the ship, but an angel assures Paul that all 276 people on board will be saved.

The survivors land on Malta. Paul is bitten by a viper but is unharmed. Paul finally reaches Rome, where he preaches the Kingdom of God freely under house arrest for two years.

Paul introduces his letter on the gospel, the power of God for salvation. He condemns humanity's idolatry, which leads to God giving them over to unnatural desires.

Paul declares God judges all people based on their deeds and the sincere attitude of their heart, proving that outward religion (the Law) offers no protection.

Paul concludes that "There is no one righteous, not even one." Salvation comes through justification by faith, a free gift from God through Christ's sacrifice.

Paul proves Abraham was justified by faith before circumcision and the Law, establishing him as the father of all who believe.

Because we are justified by faith, we have peace with God. Paul contrasts Adam's disobedience (bringing sin and death) with Christ's obedience (bringing life and grace).

Paul asks if we should continue to sin. He explains that through baptism, we have died to sin and are now slaves to righteousness, released from the law of sin and death.

Paul uses the marriage analogy to explain the believer's freedom from the Law. He describes the frustrating inner struggle: desiring to do good but being captive to sin.

The pinnacle of the New Testament: "There is now no condemnation." The Holy Spirit gives life, and nothing—absolutely nothing—can separate us from the love of God.

Paul defends God's sovereign choice in salvation, using Jacob and Esau as examples. Israel stumbled because they sought righteousness through works, not faith.

Paul assures that Christ is the end of the Law. Salvation is simple: confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead.
