Psalms
The Book of Psalms is the primary worship book of the Bible, a collection of 150 sacred songs, prayers, and poems written by various authors, primarily King David. These songs express the full range of human emotion: joy, praise, gratitude, sorrow, anger, doubt, and hope. The Psalms are traditionally grouped into five books, covering different types of worship: psalms of praise, laments, royal psalms, wisdom psalms, and historical psalms. They served as the ancient Jewish hymn book and continue to be a central resource for worship, meditation, and spiritual guidance for both Jews and Christians, teaching believers how to communicate openly and honestly with God in every circumstance of life.
A short, beautiful celebration of unity. The psalm compares the beauty of brothers living together in harmony to precious oil and refreshing dew.
A call to night watchers in the Temple to bless the Lord. The psalm concludes with a blessing of prosperity from the God who made heaven and earth.
A hymn praising God's supremacy over all gods and idols. The psalm celebrates God's mighty acts in history and His control over nature.
