1 John 2

1 John 2

John addresses his readers as "dear children" and assures them that Jesus Christ, the Righteous One, is our Advocate (or defense attorney) with the Father and the atoning sacrifice for our sins. John commands them to keep God's commands, as this is the proof of genuinely knowing Him. He warns against loving the world and the things in it (lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, and pride of life). John warns them to stay away from antichrists who deny that Jesus is the Christ.
