1 John 3

John marvels at the profound love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God. He teaches that when Christ appears, we shall be like Him. John distinguishes between the children of God and the children of the devil: those born of God do not continue to practice sin. True love is demonstrated by laying down our lives for one another. We know we belong to the truth when we love one another not just with words, but with actions and in truth.
