1 John 4

1 John 4

John instructs believers to test the spirits because many false prophets have gone out into the world. The test is simple: every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God. John reaffirms the central message that God is love. If God loved us enough to send His Son as an atoning sacrifice, we must also love one another. John states that perfect love drives out fear and that no one who practices fear has been perfected in love.
