2 Chronicles 13

2 Chronicles 13

Abijah, Rehoboam's son, becomes king of Judah and engages in a major battle against Jeroboam, king of Israel. Abijah confronts Jeroboam's forces, giving a bold speech that focuses on Judah's covenant loyalty to the Lord and the illegitimacy of the Northern Kingdom, which had cast out the priests and established idol worship. Though outnumbered, the men of Judah cry out to the Lord and sound their trumpets. God strikes down Jeroboam’s army, resulting in a decisive victory for Judah and strengthening their control over the land.
