2 Chronicles 16

2 Chronicles 16

King Baasha of Israel builds a fort to cut off the Kingdom of Judah. Asa, relying on human alliances rather than God, foolishly uses the Temple and palace treasures to hire Ben-Hadad, king of Aram, to attack Israel. God sends the prophet Hanani to rebuke Asa for relying on Aram instead of the Lord. Asa grows angry and throws Hanani in prison. Asa then suffers from a severe foot disease, and even in his illness, he fails to seek help from the Lord.
