2 Chronicles 1

2 Chronicles 1

Solomon firmly establishes his kingdom and travels to the high place at Gibeon to offer a thousand burnt offerings. That night, God appears to Solomon in a dream and invites him to ask for anything. Solomon humbly requests not wealth or long life, but the wisdom and knowledge needed to govern God’s great people. God is pleased, grants his request, and also promises him the wealth, possessions, and honor that he did not ask for. Solomon then returns to Jerusalem, where he begins to rule with great authority and prosperity.
