2 Chronicles 22

2 Chronicles 22

Ahaziah, Jehoram’s son, reigns briefly but wickedly, following the counsel of his mother, the wicked Athaliah. Ahaziah foolishly allies himself with the wicked King Joram of Israel. When Joram is wounded in battle, Ahaziah visits him in Jezreel. God sends Jehu to destroy the house of Ahab, and Jehu finds and executes Ahaziah as well. Ahaziah's mother, Athaliah, attempts to seize power by massacring all the remaining royal heirs of Judah. Only the infant prince Joash is rescued and hidden by the priest Jehoiada.
