2 Chronicles 28

2 Chronicles 28

Ahaz, King of Judah, reigns wickedly, practicing idol worship, making sacred images for the Baals, and sacrificing his own sons in the fire. God allows Judah to be defeated by the Arameans and the Israelites (under King Pekah), resulting in immense loss and the taking of 200,000 captives. The prophet Oded confronts the Israelites, urging them to release their brothers, which they do. Ahaz then foolishly appeals to the wicked King of Assyria for help, which only brings greater trouble to Judah.
