Solomon prepares to build the Temple and his palace. He sends a message to King Hiram of Tyre (an old friend of David) requesting cedar and cypress wood, skilled laborers, and a man who is expert in gold, silver, and bronze work. Solomon offers King Hiram a massive payment of grain, oil, and wine. King Hiram agrees to the partnership, sending the highly skilled craftsman Huram-abi. Solomon then organizes the massive labor force: 70,000 laborers, 80,000 stonecutters, and 3,600 overseers for the construction project.

Boaz resolves the kinsman-redeemer legal process at the city gate. He marries Ruth, and their son, Obed, becomes the grandfather of King David, securing Ruth's place in the lineage of Christ.
