2 Chronicles 6

2 Chronicles 6

Solomon praises the Lord for fulfilling His promise to David. He then stands before the congregation and delivers a powerful, extensive dedication prayer. Solomon asks God to keep His covenant with David's descendants and requests that God will hear the prayers of the people who turn toward this Temple, especially in times of war, drought, famine, and exile. Solomon's prayer emphasizes that the magnificent Temple, though beautiful, cannot contain the God who dwells in the heavens.
