2 Chronicles 7

2 Chronicles 7

As soon as Solomon finishes his prayer, fire descends from heaven and consumes the burnt offerings and the sacrifices on the altar, and the glory of the Lord fills the Temple. The people fall face down and worship. The entire nation celebrates for seven days. That night, the Lord appears to Solomon and confirms that He has consecrated the Temple and that His eyes will be open to the prayers offered there. However, God issues a severe warning: if Israel disobeys and turns to idols, the Temple will be destroyed, and the people will be exiled.
