2 Timothy 1

2 Timothy 1

Paul encourages Timothy to fan into flame the gift of God within him, reminding him that God has given him a spirit of power, love, and self-discipline, not fear. Paul urges Timothy to not be ashamed of testifying about the Lord or of Paul, who is a prisoner. Paul reminds Timothy of his godly heritage: the sincere faith passed down from his grandmother Lois and his mother Eunice. Paul commands Timothy to guard the good deposit (the gospel) that was entrusted to him by the Holy Spirit.
