Amos 5

Amos 5

Amos issues a solemn lament, mourning the inevitable fall of Israel. He urges the people to seek God instead of relying on their corrupt religious rituals or powerful military alliances. Amos makes it clear that God desires true justice and righteousness, not just empty religious festivals. He condemns their hypocrisy, stating that their sacrifices and songs are worthless because their lives are filled with corruption and oppression. Because they have rejected justice, Israel will be exiled beyond Damascus.
