Amos 6

Amos 6

Amos condemns the false sense of security held by the rich and powerful in both Samaria and Zion. These complacent nobles spend their days in excessive comfort, reclining on ivory couches, feasting, and drinking, while ignoring the desperate suffering and impending ruin of the nation. Amos highlights their arrogance, believing their wealth makes them safe. God promises that because of their indifference to justice, they will be the very first to go into exile, turning their lavish feasts into funeral dirges.
