Daniel 11

Daniel 11

The angel provides Daniel with a detailed, long prophecy of the kings of Persia and Greece, focusing on the conflicts between the "King of the North" (Seleucid Empire) and the "King of the South" (Ptolemaic Empire). The prophecy is so accurate that many critics believe it must have been written after the fact. The prophecy culminates in the actions of the contemptible person (Antiochus IV Epiphanes) who defiles the sanctuary and sets up the abomination of desolation, foreshadowing future end-time events.
