Daniel 4

Daniel 4

This entire chapter is a decree written by King Nebuchadnezzar himself, recounting his second terrifying dream and its fulfillment. The dream is of a great tree that reached to heaven, providing shelter to all, but an angelic messenger commands the tree be cut down and the stump bound with iron. Daniel interprets this: the king will be driven from men for seven times until he learns that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men. The prophecy is fulfilled, and Nebuchadnezzar lives like an animal, until he finally raises his eyes to heaven and praises the eternal King, regaining his kingdom and sanity.
