Daniel 8

Daniel 8

Daniel sees a vision of a ram with two horns (Medo-Persia) charging and conquering everything. A goat with one great horn (Greece/Alexander the Great) then charges and swiftly destroys the ram. The great horn is broken, and four smaller horns rise up in its place (Alexander's successor kingdoms). Out of one of these horns grows a little horn (Antiochus IV Epiphanes) who magnifies himself against heaven, abolishes the daily sacrifice, and defiles the sanctuary for a time. Daniel is told to seal up the vision, as it refers to events in the distant future.
