Jeremiah 17

Jeremiah 17

God declares that the sin of Judah is written with an iron pen on the tablet of their heart and the horns of their altars. The chapter contains the famous warning: "Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength; but blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord." God promises to search the heart and test the mind to give every man according to his ways. The chapter concludes with a powerful sermon emphasizing the need to keep the Sabbath holy as a condition for the continued prosperity of Jerusalem.
