Jeremiah 18

Jeremiah 18

God instructs Jeremiah to go down to the potter’s house to learn a crucial lesson about God’s sovereignty. Jeremiah watches the potter rework a marred vessel. God declares that Israel is like the clay in His hands. If a nation repents, God will avert the promised disaster. If a nation persists in evil, God will bring judgment. The people reject this idea, saying, "We will walk according to our own plans." Jeremiah is again targeted by enemies, and he prays for God to exact vengeance on them.
