Jeremiah 21

Jeremiah 21

King Zedekiah sends priests to Jeremiah, asking him to pray for God to intervene and save Jerusalem from the approaching army of Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon. God refuses, telling Jeremiah that God Himself is fighting against Jerusalem. God declares that He will deliver the city into the hands of Nebuchadnezzar. God gives the people a stark choice: "Behold, I set before you the way of life and the way of death." Those who stay in the city will die, but those who go out and surrender to the Babylonians will live.
