Jeremiah 22

Jeremiah 22

Jeremiah delivers a message to the royal house of Judah, specifically addressing the succession of kings after the righteous King Josiah. God promises that if the kings and people execute justice and righteousness, the throne of David will stand. However, if they disobey, the palace will become a desolation. God pronounces judgment on King Jehoiakim (who will have the burial of a donkey) and King Jehoiachin (who is condemned as a signet ring cast off). God declares that none of Jehoiachin’s descendants will sit on David’s throne.
