Jeremiah 23

Jeremiah 23

God pronounces judgment on the wicked shepherds (false leaders) who have scattered God's flock. God promises to raise up a future, righteous "Branch" from the line of David. This coming King will reign wisely and execute justice and righteousness on the earth, and He will be called "The Lord Our Righteousness." God then condemns the false prophets who speak dreams and deceit in His name, claiming that they steal God's words and speak the delusion of their own heart, leading the people astray.
