Jeremiah 2

Jeremiah 2

God expresses His deep disappointment with Israel, recalling their devotion in their youth when they followed Him in the wilderness like a faithful bride. God laments that Israel has turned to worthless idols, comparing them to a broken cistern that can hold no water, abandoning the fountain of living waters. Israel's constant search for help from foreign nations like Egypt and Assyria is condemned as foolish. God challenges Israel to return, emphasizing that their wickedness and punishment have come from their own deliberate choice to rebel against the Lord.
