Jeremiah 36

Jeremiah 36

God commands Jeremiah to take a scroll and write down all the prophecies God had spoken against Israel, Judah, and the nations. Jeremiah dictates the words to his scribe, Baruch. Baruch reads the scroll publicly in the Temple. When the scroll is read to King Jehoiakim, the king cuts the scroll with a penknife and burns it in the fire. God commands Jeremiah to dictate the words again, adding many more words. This act demonstrates the king's brazen rebellion against the word of God.
