Jeremiah 3

Jeremiah 3

The Lord pleads with faithless Israel, comparing their idolatry to a woman's constant adultery. God asks if He should take them back even after they have polluted the land. God calls Israel (the Northern Kingdom) and Judah (the Southern Kingdom) to repent. Though Israel was exiled, Judah learned nothing and showed even greater treachery. God promises that if they return, He will heal their backsliding and bring them back to Zion, giving them shepherds according to His heart. The chapter concludes with the promise of a future, unified kingdom led by the Lord.
