Jeremiah 51

Jeremiah 51

The prophecy against Babylon continues, detailing its complete and utter destruction. God declares that Babylon is a golden cup in His hand that made all the earth drunk, but she has suddenly fallen. God promises to bring up a destroying wind against Babylon and command the nations to come against her. The city will be made a perpetual desolation, inhabited only by wild beasts. God commands the exiles to flee out of the midst of Babylon to save their own lives before the final judgment falls upon the wicked city.
