Jeremiah 7

Jeremiah 7

Jeremiah is commanded to preach the famous "Temple Sermon" at the gate of the Lord's house. God warns the people not to trust in the false delusion that the Temple itself will save them, declaring, "The temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord are these." God warns that unless they truly reform their ways, they will be punished and the Temple will be destroyed, just as God destroyed the sanctuary at Shiloh. God vows to cast Judah away, just as He cast away the Northern Kingdom.
