Jeremiah 8

Jeremiah 8

God laments Judah's persistent refusal to repent, comparing them to a traveler who fails to return to his path. God questions why they trust in lies and hold fast to deceit. The prophets speak falsely, and the people believe them. Jeremiah cries out for his people, asking, "Is there no balm in Gilead? Is there no physician there?" He weeps over the certainty of God's judgment, as the harvest is past and the people are not saved. The chapter ends with God's deep sorrow over the coming calamity.
