Jeremiah 9

Jeremiah 9

Jeremiah passionately laments the moral decay and deceit of his people, wishing he had a tent in the wilderness so he could escape. He describes Judah as a wilderness of liars, where everyone deceives their neighbor and slanders are constant. God warns that He will refine and test His people, punishing them for their iniquity. The chapter concludes with God giving a profound instruction: let the wise man not boast in his wisdom, nor the mighty man in his might, but let him boast in this: that he understands and knows the Lord, who executes justice, righteousness, and loving-kindness.
