Nahum 1

Nahum opens with a majestic and terrifying description of God’s power and wrath. He declares that the Lord is slow to anger but powerful in wrath, and He will not leave the guilty unpunished. Nahum then focuses on the city of Nineveh, the capital of Assyria, confirming that while God is a stronghold for those who trust Him, He will utterly destroy their enemies.
