Nahum 2

Nahum 2

Nahum describes a vivid, chaotic vision of the Assyrian army's defeat and the utter destruction of Nineveh. He describes the invading armies advancing, the flashing chariots, the terrified citizens, and the city’s walls being breached. The market square is thrown into confusion as the wealthy plunderers are themselves plundered. The prophecy concludes with Nineveh, previously compared to a lion’s den—powerful and secure—now being rendered desolate and empty, stripped of all its riches and might.
