Nahum 3

Nahum 3

Nahum closes his prophecy with a devastating final indictment against Nineveh, the "city of blood." He condemns the city for its history of violence, widespread treachery, and reliance on brutality and lies. Nahum warns that Nineveh’s former allies will abandon them, and God will expose the city's shame for all the nations to see. He uses the fall of the Egyptian city of Thebes as a comparison, stating that if a mighty city like that could fall, Nineveh is certainly not immune. The prophecy concludes with Nineveh’s destruction being celebrated globally.
