Obadiah 1

Obadiah 1

The shortest book in the Old Testament, Obadiah delivers a powerful, single prophecy concerning the nation of Edom, the descendants of Esau. Edom is condemned for its immense pride and its cruel failure to help Israel when Jerusalem was attacked by foreign enemies. Edom did worse than simply ignore Israel; they cheered their enemies on and looted their property. Obadiah declares that Edom will be completely destroyed and brought low because of this heartless betrayal of their kin.
