Philippians 1

Philippians 1

Paul begins by expressing thanks for the Philippians' partnership in the gospel from the very first day. He prays that their love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight. Paul shares his confidence that his imprisonment has actually served to advance the gospel, as his chains are known throughout the palace guard. Paul declares that for him, "to live is Christ and to die is gain." He urges them to live worthy of the gospel, standing firm in one spirit.
