God outlines the three mandatory annual pilgrimage festivals: the Feast of Unleavened Bread (Passover), the Feast of Weeks (Pentecost), and the Feast of Tabernacles (Booths).

God gives laws concerning limits on corporal punishment (no more than 40 lashes), levirate marriage (a brother marrying his dead brother's widow), and the use of honest weights and measures.

God commands the ceremony for offering the firstfruits of the harvest, and the prayer of thanksgiving that must be recited to remember their history from the time of their ancestor, a wandering Aramean.

Moses commands the priests to erect large stones covered with plaster, inscribing the Law of God on them. He then proclaims twelve curses against various forms of hidden disobedience and sin.
