Psalms
The Book of Psalms is the primary worship book of the Bible, a collection of 150 sacred songs, prayers, and poems written by various authors, primarily King David. These songs express the full range of human emotion: joy, praise, gratitude, sorrow, anger, doubt, and hope. The Psalms are traditionally grouped into five books, covering different types of worship: psalms of praise, laments, royal psalms, wisdom psalms, and historical psalms. They served as the ancient Jewish hymn book and continue to be a central resource for worship, meditation, and spiritual guidance for both Jews and Christians, teaching believers how to communicate openly and honestly with God in every circumstance of life.
A majestic hymn celebrating God's reign. The Lord reigns, clothed in majesty and strength, seated on His eternal throne above the chaotic power of the seas.
A cry for vengeance against the wicked who oppress the needy. The psalm assures believers that God will not abandon His inheritance and will judge evil.
A call to worship and obedience. The psalm urges the people to praise God, their Shepherd, but warns against hardening their hearts, as Israel did at Meribah.
A call for all nations to sing a new song to God. The psalm proclaims God's glory and announces that the Lord is coming to judge the world in righteousness.
